This is the 6th year in a row that I-BN has attended the Meeting Of The Minds, the annual gathering of The 90 Minds Group an independent North American association of over 200 consultants and vendors who collaborate on ERP and CRM systems including Sage 100, 300, 500, Sage CRM and SAP Business One. I-BN has been the cloud hosting choice for many of the 90 Minds membership and their clients since 1999 when I-BN became the first official hosting partner for Sage. I-BN also became the first official hosting partner for SAP B1 in 2003.

This year’s agenda was jam packed with product demos and updates by many ERP and vertical software providers, one of the more interesting being the keynote presentation by Sage. Sage recently changed the names of all their products to emphasis their commitment to the cloud. Most importantly, they emphasized the importance of Sage 100 users in the US as being their largest product user base in their largest target market. Sage 100 started as Master of Accounting Series for the 90's and has been changing with the times ever since. Recently it was changed to Sage 100c and now the name is Sage 100cloud.

Since many users run Sage 100 on an on-premise server, changing the name to Sage 100cloud shows Sage’s commitment to enhancing the product and making it cloud compatible. The name change also acknowledges the fact that more businesses are looking to move their systems to the cloud to enable them to better use their assets to run and improve their business. IDC predicts that 60-70% of all software, services and technology spend will be cloud based by 2020.

Remember, the cloud is not about saving money although often times there are savings. It’s about a strategy and using technology to help run your business more profitably, be more efficient and spend your capital on things that increase revenue and competitiveness.

The cloud…

  • Eliminates a large capital expense in favor of smaller monthly payments.
  • Increases collaboration.
  • Eliminates worrying about downtime, backups, having technical expertise, hardware maintenance, updating hardware, being connected and systems architecture.
  • Puts information in the hands of the people who need it when they need it.
  • Provides instant scalability and flexibility.
  • Is completely customizable to your business needs.
